An unsung feature in Prohire ... the Allocation Chart Traffic Light System

An unsung feature in Prohire ... the Allocation Chart Traffic Light System

Prohire has a very useful feature in its arsenal which is live utilization, and is shown directly on the allocation chart so that informed decisions can be made instantly when allocating bookings to vehicles.

The vehicle registration number traffic light system is greatly ignored but can prove to be a very useful tool.

The idea behind the traffic light system is to allow the user to asses if a particular booking should be placed against a particular vehicle.  For example if the registration is highlighted in red then consideration should be made whether or not a booking should be placed against the vehicle, as Prohire is suggesting that the vehicle is not within its optimum miles and will go over its planned exit miles.

The colours represent the OMTD (optimum miles to date) as per below:

The tariff light system hinges on how accurate the data is, the data that is required is:

1) The entry date/miles & planned exit date/miles are entered against each registration.

2) The miles the booking will be covering are entered in the group the vehicle belongs to, and can be entered as per day, per week, per weekend. You can change the expected miles cell in the booking on a booking by booking basis.

So hopefully making more use of this feature will enable you to keep on top of your vehicle utilization, lay off vehicle’s that are showing in red and assign more bookings to under performing vehicles.
