Prohire Software Systems will be exhibiting at The Commercial Vehicle Show in Birmingham for the first time this April and will use the event to launch a wave of new products and services following a period of significant development.

Founded in 1994, Prohire is one of the UK’s leading providers of software systems to the vehicle rental industry. Installed in over 600 locations, Prohire’s trusted rental system is used to manage over 70,000 vehicles and customers range from single-site businesses to the largest multi-site operators.

Prohire Managing Director, Paul Newman said:

“We’re delighted to be attending the Commercial Vehicle Show in April. This is the perfect platform to showcase our new range of products and services and we’re looking forward to demonstrating our latest features to both new and existing users.”

The latest version of Prohire’s popular rental system introduces powerful new features including real-time availability, optimised tariffs and a rules-based quoting engine allowing companies to automatically adjust their tariffs based on pre-set criteria. The last of Prohire’s traditional desktop releases, Prohire 5.0 marks the start of a journey to a fully cloud-based version of the popular rental system within the next 18 months.

Proweb integrates with Prohire’s rental system allowing companies to accept online bookings via their existing website. This new version is mobile optimised, includes integrated credit card payments via Sage and Stripe and works alongside Prohire’s new quoting engine, allowing companies to automatically adjust their online rates according to pre-set criteria.

Prohire Tracker

Prohire Tracker will provide companies with a powerful, yet affordable fleet tracking solution. Unlike stand-alone systems, Prohire’s tracking system will be fully integrated, allowing users to view real-time vehicle data within their Prohire rental system. The system also incorporates sophisticated geofencing technology allowing operators to trigger alerts based on a vehicle’s location or status.

May 2018 will see the introduction of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The new law will regulate how companies process and use personal data and replace the current Data Protection Act. Prohire is committed to the new regulations and has been implementing the appropriate technical and security measures to ensure compliance by 25th May. This work includes significant financial investment in new hardware as well as the introduction of specific tools and features designed to support users following the introduction of the new regulations.

Prohire Managing Director, Paul Newman said:

“We have always taken data protection and security extremely seriously, so we have embraced our obligations under the new regulations. As well as ensuring Prohire is compliant beyond 25th May, the additional measures we are putting in place will provide hosted users with practical tools and features, designed to support them on their own journey to compliance.”

Prohire will be exhibiting on stand 4F69 in HALL 4 and software demonstrations can be pre-booked by emailing
