On 14th September 2019, new requirements for authenticating online payments will be introduced in Europe as part of the second Payment Services Directive (PSD2).
From this date, the expectation is for all e-commerce transactions to be processed via secured industry protocols such as 3D Secure.
Why are the changes being implemented?
The changes are intended to reduce fraud and make online payments more secure.
What is Prohire doing in readiness for the changes?
Payment Service Providers such as Sage Pay and Stripe are already preparing for the changes and we will also be updating Proweb to support the new security requirements.
Do I need to do anything as a Proweb user?
You don’t need to do anything yet. We will be contacting all users ahead of the 14th September to confirm any actions/updates required. These may be different depending on your Payment Service Provider, but we will provide full details at the time.
You may have already received information from your Payment Service Provider prompting you to take action. Please ignore these communications for the time being as we will cover any updates/actions required within our own communication.
This upcoming information will be sent out to Proweb users via email and will also be posted on the front screen of Prohire.
