Petrol 'Lucky Dip'?

According to tests undertaken by the AA, UK motorists are benefiting from some petrol pumps supplying more petrol than the counter indicates.

The AA tested pumps after some members reported that they were not getting enough petrol.

The motoring organisations’s results show that all pumps were dispensing at least the correct amount, with some giving 4.4% more petrol than shown. This amounts to a 6p-a-litre gift to motorists at a time when most are penny watching.

The AA said that Trading Standards officers had reported discrepancies at four out of 38 sites in Cumbria and 11 out of 216 nozzles in Derby.
