Rental Company's Jolly Good Charity Fundraiser

Rental Company's Jolly Good Charity Fundraiser

A new version of Santa’s sleigh has hit Shropshire roads after bosses at a county-based vehicle hire company got into the festive spirit to raise cash for Hope House Children’s Hospice.

Jason King and Mark Hughes from Jolly Good Van Hire, based in Shrewsbury, usually see the arrival of white vans but when three red ones were delivered they knew it was a perfect opportunity for a Christmas fundraiser.

The directors of Jolly Good Van Hire, which has depots in Shrewsbury and Wrexham, have now had the three red Ford Transit vans liveried with a Father Christmas on the side and have pledged to hand over £1 to Hope House Children’s Hospice in Oswestry for every ‘like’ they get on their Facebook page or tweet they receive between now and Christmas.

Mr King, manager of the Shrewsbury branch of the vehicle hire company, said they hoped to raise £2,500 over the next six weeks.

“At Jolly Good Van Hire we love Christmas and for us it is all about children so what better charity to raise money for than Hope House Children’s Hospice.

“We are asking people to get in the Christmas spirit and beep or tweet if they love Santa.

“We know how much people love Santa’s face. Once people know why the vans are liveried up, we are sure the Facebook ‘likes’ and tweets will start flooding in and we will smash our £2,500 target.”

Staff from APH Signs in Wrexham liveried the vans for free as part of the fundraiser.

Mr King added: “We are sure the money will help put the smiles on the faces of the children and their families at Hope House at such a special time.

“Those children, their parents and siblings are extremely brave. If we can help make their lives a little easier then we will be delighted.”

The Jolly team are regular fundraisers having previously raised £25,000 for Nightingale House and Severn Hospice through a sponsored cycle ride.
