Why Should I Use Prohire's Hosting Service?

 

Did you know that we can host your Prohire database for you? The hosted service is where your Prohire application is installed on our servers in the datacentre, which you connect to via the internet using a small client application installed on the machines in your office.  This is in contrast to the self-hosted service where we install the complete Prohire application onto your machines in the office, i.e. application servers and client application.

 

The advantages to you ...

 

One of the biggest advantages of having the system hosted at our datacentre is that we will take regular backups of your data. Should your machine get a virus, or be subject to fire, theft, power surges, water damage etc. – your booking and client data will be 100% safe.

Over the years the most common problem we encounter with self-hosted clients is a lack of Prohire backups. This has resulted in some clients having to resume using a blank database without historical and future bookings.  So this is a big burden that we take care of for you.

Another advantage we have is that your system is replicated to a number of machines; this allows us to easily start up your system on another machine if your primary fails for any reason.  Generally this is not something clients hosting themselves are able to do, so if you have a major problem on the machine that Prohire is installed on, it could take a number of hours before that machine is available again.


When new features are released for Prohire they are generally released to our hosted clients first as we have greater control over the environment and we can quickly update the application if required. There are also some features that are not available to clients we do not host, e.g. Prohire Anywhere which is a facility that allows you to run Prohire on a non-Windows based machine, and Prohire Mobile - an application for Apple/Android devices to perform vehicle inspections - capturing relevant damage photographs and customer signatures.
