Intack Self Dive is based in Blackburn, Lancashire, and has offered its customers reliable services for 50 years. The business started its fleet with two vans and three cars and quickly grew from there, now working with a fleet of 450 vehicles Intack Self Drive is one of the largest privately owned self-drive rental companies in Lancashire.

Intack Self Drive has been a proud member of the industry trade body BVRLA (British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association) for 30 years now, gaining trust and loyalty from its customers.

Keeping modern

As a long-time Prohire user, Intack Self Drive has added more modules to its software over time. As frequent users of Proweb and Companion, Intack Self Drive is taking the appropriate steps to ensure they get the most out of Prohire Software and enforce a professional image within the industry.

Lee Grendall, Operations Manager, adds: “We’ve been using Prohire for many years. The introduction of Proweb was great in terms of informing online customers of current pricing and availability as well as automating the online booking process. With companion, we initially held off, but recommendations from other users, as well as a very successful trial period, resulted in us taking the plunge permanently.

Companion, being the latest addition, has dragged our handover processes into the 21st century and enabled a much easier auditing of standards/vehicle safety checks; the electronically signed RA’s and check sheets have resulted in a near paperless rental operation.”

Like most rental companies, vehicle damage is one of the biggest issues. Lee noticed an immense amount of damage getting missed and muddled between hires and was struggling to keep on top of this hurdle.

“Damage was always problematic, locating previous check sheets from archives when comparing damage was time-consuming, the pictures of the vehicle before and after each hire help immensely and customers seem to trust the process,” Lee adds.

Prohire Companion allows companies to modernise their business, increasing efficiency and reducing potential disputes.

Lee says: “We were apprehensive before using Companion, concerned that adapting the processes to our check out/check-in and handover procedure would be problematic as well as hoping that everyone would be able to use the technology involved.

Now I advise others to take the plunge, customers are more relaxed with the professionalism that companion adds to your rental operation, and document flow/storage and retrieval are all made much easier and speed up an admin for post-rental items such as accidents and PCNs.”
